25 percent more cycling accidents among children in Austria


Vienna – Last year, a total of 3,559 children had accidents in road traffic in Austria, almost 16 percent more than in 2024. The number of cycling girls and boys who were involved in a traffic accident even rose by 25 percent to 810. This was announced by the mobility organization VCÖ, citing data from Statistics Austria. This is the highest value in the past 20 years. The VCÖ is calling for increased measures for a child-friendly transport system.
