It was possible to see lava bubbling and spewing smoke inside the Kilauea volcano, in Hawaii.
A statement from the National Weather Service office in Honolulu, released on Sunday, said that an intermittent eruption with jets of lava was expected from Kilauea’s caldera. The statement added that these episodes usually last less than 12 hours, but ash can remain in the atmosphere for longer depending on wind and weather conditions.
