Scientists have revealed the healthiest vegetable in the world: You can buy it in every supermarket! It costs only a few euros

American scientists compiled a list of the most nutritious fruits and vegetables in the world, and one of them achieved a perfect rating. It turned out that it is not an unknown or expensive food that you would have to look for in specialized stores. , experts have confirmed that this leafy vegetable has overtaken Chinese cabbage, Swiss chard, beetroot leaves or even spinach.

  • Scientists call watercress the most nutritious food.
  • It received full 100 points as the only one out of 47 evaluated species.
  • Various other types of leafy vegetables were also ranked first.
  • Blackberries and various citrus fruits were especially the least nutritious.

Experts from the American Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have created a comprehensive list of vegetables and fruits that are the most beneficial for the human body. The researchers first assigned a preliminary rating based on existing literature and consumer recommendations, and then calculated a nutrient density score for each food.

Of the 47 species, however, only one received a full 100 points. It was watercress, a leafy vegetable from the cabbage family, which is related to cabbage, kale, radish or mustard. Its Latin name (Nasturtium officinale) is loosely translated as “nose twister”. The reason is probably its strong spicy smell.
