Firefighters are currently responding to a fire in apartment units and farm buildings in Krompachy. As the Presidium of the Fire and Rescue Service (HaZZ) informs on the social network, firefighters were dispatched to a barn fire in Krompachy in the early hours of the morning on Friday.

- Firefighters deployed several attack jets and rescued five people from the buildings.

- Preliminary damage amounts to 110,000 euros and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
“Upon arrival at the site it was found that the fire engulfed the roof structure and attic spaces of the building with several accommodation units, while the flames also spread to the adjacent farm buildings. Firefighters immediately started extinguishing work, created traffic lines and deployed several attack jets to locate and then extinguish the fire. Five people were rescued from the affected buildings. One injured person was taken into the care of paramedics“, the presidium states.
Professional firefighters together with members of the volunteer fire brigades of the municipalities of Krompachy and Kluknava intervene on the spot. Currently, the intervention continues. “Firefighters are extinguishing hidden fires, dismantling the damaged roof structure and inspecting the object with a thermal camera in order to prevent the fire from re-igniting,” completes the presidium. Preliminary damage was estimated at 110,000 euros. An investigator into the causes of the fires was also called to the scene, the cause is under investigation.
