Expertise is carried out after being run over on a street decorated for the World Cup

The Scientific Police of Pará carried out inspections on the vehicles involved in the collision that left residents injured while decorating a street for the World Cup, in the Sacramenta neighborhood, in Belém.

The information was released this Monday (15) by the Civil Police.

The driver identified as responsible for the crime remains at large.

A request for preventive detention was requested by the PC from the Judiciary and the Public Prosecutor’s Office, for the crime of attempted qualified murder and qualified damage.

Expertise

The forensic examinations were carried out on eight vehicles involved in the incident recorded last Wednesday night (10), on the Marinho crossing, between Travesa Pirajá and Rua Nova.

Among the cars analyzed is the pickup truck used by the suspect, which was seized by the police after being located in a vacant lot next to his residence, in the Coqueiro neighborhood, in Ananindeua, metropolitan region of Belém.

The team from the Criminalistics Institute began work at the Sacramenta Police Station, where the vehicle of the person being investigated was seized. The experts then carried out an analysis of the other seven vehicles hit during the incident.

According to criminal expert Francisco Santos, the so-called damage inspection is essential for the production of technical evidence that will form part of the police investigation.

“Damage inspection identifies and reports existing damage to vehicles. This technical work will support the police investigation, contributing to clarifying the facts that occurred at the time of the accident”, he explained.

According to the Civil Police, the expert report should help reconstruct the dynamics of the collision and provide elements to hold the perpetrator responsible.

Request for preventive detention

The Civil Police reported that they have already filed a request for preventive detention against the suspect with the Judiciary.

Based on the initial investigations, the police authority understood that there were sufficient elements to request the precautionary measure for the crimes of attempted qualified homicide and qualified damage.

More than ten people have already been interviewed during the investigations, but new statements must still be collected.
