After agreement with Iran, Trump will seek peace in Ukraine and Lebanon

The President of the United States, (Republican Party), announced, this Monday (June 15, 2026), the signing of a memorandum during the , in Évian-les-Bains, France. He said he intends to focus efforts on ending the wars in Ukraine and Lebanon.

The announcement was made alongside French President Emmanuel Macron, host of the summit. According to Trump, the memorandum between the 2 countries had already been signed before the public declaration.

Trump also cited conversations with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, and the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, on Sunday (June 14). According to the North American president, both would be open to negotiations to end the conflict.

“We had a very good conversation yesterday with President Zelensky and President Putin, and I think maybe we can do something along those lines. I really believe that. I think they’re both open to it,” disse Trump.

The American president also said that vessels have started to cross the Strait of Hormuz without paying tolls. The maritime passage is considered strategic for the global transport of oil and gas.

After the agreement with Iran, Trump stated that he intends to focus efforts on a possible peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia and an end to the fighting in Lebanon.

The G7 summit began this Monday (June 15) and will continue until June 17. Among the topics discussed are international conflicts, economic imbalances, critical minerals outside China and artificial intelligence.
