Anac investigates whether the helicopter that collided was carrying out clandestine transport

The National Civil Aviation Agency reported that it is investigating whether one of the helicopters that flew on Sunday (June 14, 2026) was carrying out clandestine air transport.

In a note, the agency reported having received a complaint in 2025. “Specifically regarding the PP-MAC aircraft, as a result of the investigation process, in 2025, after a report of clandestine air transport, in addition to the fine for refusing to provide information to Anac and, in continuity with the investigation of the report, the aircraft was included in the monitoring list of the inspection unit, in person”it says.

In 2025 and 2026, Anac inspected 43 aircraft and 47 crew members at 9 aerodromes in the city of Rio. In these inspections, the aircraft with the PP-MAC prefix was not located.

The 2 helicopters collided and crashed on the outskirts of Avenida das Américas, near Recreio dos Bandeirantes, on Sunday morning (June 14). The 6 people who were on the aircraft died.

The Rio de Janeiro State Military Fire Department was called. According to firefighters, the aircraft crashed into the parking lot of an electric car dealership, causing a fire that affected at least 20 vehicles.

Investigation

The Civil Police are investigating the aircraft collision. The examination was carried out and agents are awaiting the report from Cenipa (Aeronautical Accident Investigation and Prevention Center), linked to the Aeronautics Command.

To date, the bodies of:

  • Lucas Brito Chaves, Brazilian music producer;
  • Alexandre Souza, Brazilian pilot;
  • Gaspar Prim, Argentine influencer known as Gaspi;
  • Lucas Vignale, Argentinean and music video director;
  • Charles Marsillac, Brazilian pilot who flew alone in one of the aircraft.

The official identification of the 32-year-old American singer and music producer is still missing. Nicknamed the “King of Hyperpop”, he was an American singer, songwriter, rapper, music producer, comedian and filmmaker who had a schedule of commitments in Brazil. He had thousands of followers on social media and was the author of hits “Life Goes ON”in 2021, and “Miss You”em 2022.

Experts from the Legal Medical Institute have already collected material to identify the American singer.
