Sharp shots in the Strait: Russian war frigate attacked British civilians with warning fire

Sailors aboard a Russian military frigate fired warning shots at a British civilian yacht that approached them in the English Channel. This was reported by several British media on Tuesday, TASR writes, according to AP, AFP and Reuters reports.

According to the BBC, the British Ministry of Defense is investigating the media reports. The incident reportedly happened around 11:40 a.m. local time between the Isle of Wight and Normandy and involved the Russian frigate Admiral Grigorovich. No one was apparently injured in the incident, writes the BBC.

Bon Sunday in the English Channel, the Russian troops intercepted a tanker from the so-called of the Russian Shadow Fleet, Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced in a post on the X Network. The Ministry of Defense subsequently said that members of the Royal Marines and the National Crime Agency had boarded the Smyrtos vessel.
