A passenger train heading from Hatvan to Szolnok with 15 passengers derailed shortly after noon on Thursday. No one was injured in the accident. This was stated by the general director of the railway company MÁV Zsolt Hegyi, according to which the railways ordered an immediate investigation, the TASR correspondent in Budapest reports.
The Office for Transport Safety also started investigating the accident. They significantly limited rail traffic on the affected line. Hegyi said the accident happened after 1:00 p.m. near the Újszász station in the Jasovsko-Great-Kumańsk-Solnočka capital. A maximum speed of 40 kilometers per hour is allowed on the given section of the track, but according to him, the train was going even slower. The driver immediately stopped the train.
