José Dirceu is the interviewee of ‘Frente a Frente’ – 06/21/2026 – Politics

The former Minister of the Civil House () is this Monday’s interviewee on the Frente a Frente program, a partnership with Sheet and UOL. The program, live, will air at 7pm.

Dirceu is a pre-candidate for federal deputy for São Paulo and is identified as one of the party’s possible “vote pullers” — candidates who obtain high votes and end up, thanks to electoral rules, guaranteeing a place for other members of the ticket.

He is also coordinator of the party’s new political program, which advocates political and judicial reforms.

Dirceu, 80, took over the Civil House in the first government, in 2003, and left the post in 2005, during the scandal that led to his arrest in 2013 for active duty. Also convicted in Lava Jato, he was released for the last time in November 2019 and had the sentences for that operation annulled in 2024.

The former minister, who was a student leader and participated in armed organizations resisting the military dictatorship, is still considered one of the PT’s main strategists and political organizers.

In May, he re-started treatment at Hospital Sírio-Libanês.

Frente a Frente is presented by journalists Daniela Lima, from UOL, and Fábio Zanini, editor of the Panel column, from Sheet. The program is broadcast on the Folha and UOL websites and on YouTube.
