Red goalkeeper uniform registered with FIFA was not made, says CBF

Confederation states that the federation defined the color based on the options sent by Brazil, which were black, green and pink

The (Brazilian Football Confederation) stated that the red goalkeeper uniform registered with FIFA for the 2026 World Cup was not produced by Nike. According to the confederation, FIFA requires teams to present four uniform options for goalkeepers during the tournament. Despite there being a registration that allowed the choice of the color red, the CBF states that the sports equipment supplier did not produce this version for the Brazilian team’s current collection.

“Despite having this option registered, this uniform is not produced for the current collection”disse a CBF.

According to the confederation, the Brazilian team’s goalkeepers chose to use only black, green and pink models during the World Cup. Therefore, he states that there is no red uniform available for use in the competition.

“Nike only made the three that were chosen by the goalkeepers themselves (black, green and pink)”reported.

The CBF also explained that FIFA initially defined red for the match between Brazil and Scotland based on previously registered options. As the shirt does not exist in the current collection, it was necessary to change it.

Asked about which uniform will be used by the goalkeepers in the clash on Wednesday (June 24), against Scotland, the CBF stated that FIFA has already been notified of the change and that the color chosen will be green.

Earlier, Globo Esporte reported that Samir Xaud had vetoed the use of the red uniform by Brazilian team goalkeepers. According to the portal, the color was planned for the game against Scotland, but the decision of the CBF president would have prevented its use. The confederation, however, maintains that there is no red goalkeeper uniform available in the team’s current collection.
