Senator met this Wednesday (June 24) with Lula; politician was the target of a PF operation on Banco Master
The senator (PT-BA) left the leadership of the Government in the Senate. The announcement was made this Wednesday (June 24, 2026), about an hour after a meeting between the congressman and the president (PT). On June 18, the politician went to Banco Master.
“Right now, my absolute priority is to prove my innocence and dedicate myself to the re-election of President Lula and Governor Jerônimo Rodrigues, in addition to my re-election together with Rui Costa to the Senate”, he wrote.
PF TARGET
Jaques Wagner was the target of the 9th phase of the Compliance Zero operation launched by the PF on June 18 to investigate the possible participation of public agents in an irregularity scheme involving institutions in the national financial system. In addition to the senator, businessman Augusto Ferreira Lima, owner of Banco Pleno and former partner of Banco Master, was one of the targets of the measures authorized by the Federal Supreme Court.
In total, 18 search and seizure warrants were issued in Bahia, São Paulo and the Federal District, in addition to precautionary measures, such as prohibition of contact between those being investigated and suspension of passports. According to the corporation, the facts discovered could constitute, in theory, the crimes of passive corruption, active corruption and money laundering.
