Also on social media, the senator announced the decision and stated that, after “a conversation between friends”, both decided, by mutual agreement, to resign.
Last week, . The suspicion is that Wagner benefited from economic advantages supposedly related to his work on measures in Congress that could favor Banco Master, owned by Daniel Vorcaro. Among these advantages would be the acquisition of an apartment in Salvador valued at more than R$2.4 million.
The investigation also points out that the senator would have frequently traveled on the banker’s jets and received, over the years, payments from Banco Master through a company linked to his stepson’s wife, Bonnie Bonilha.
According to the investigation, the transactions intended for the senator’s stepdaughter were recorded in messages exchanged between Wagner and Augusto Lima, Vorcaro’s former partner. According to the PF, Bonnie Bonilha received around R$11 million from Master through a consultancy contract signed by the company BK Financeira, in payments made by intermediaries who are also targets of the operation.
