The target audience is 3.5 million MEIs, micro and small companies with debts of up to R$20 thousand. In total, the government expects to negotiate R$12.4 billion
In the coming days, the government will launch a notice of debt renegotiation for Individual Microentrepreneurs (MEI) with up to 70% discount and installments in up to 145 months. The target audience is 3.5 million MEIs, micro and small companies with debts of up to R$20 thousand. In total, the government expects to negotiate R$12.4 billion.
“We noticed a growing increase in MEIs registered in active debt, either because they didn’t even know they had to pay, or because they couldn’t afford it. These are debts with ticket very small, if you compare it with the stock of active debt, but they are important debts for that person”, stated the attorney general of the National Treasury (PGFN), Anelize Almeida, to BroadcastGrupo Estado’s real-time news system.
The prosecutor stated that the tax transaction carries out an individual analysis and has different conditions for each taxpayer. “Not everyone will have 145 months or a 70% discount. The analysis is individualized, which is why it generates a greater commitment to payment and reduces the moral risk of default”, he added.
