Pinkafeld – The former FPÖ chairman and transport minister Norbert Hofer had to hand in his driver’s license on Friday after a positive alcohol preliminary test, reported Crown newspaper (online) on Saturday. Hofer, who is a member of the state parliament after retiring as club chairman of the FPÖ Burgenland at the end of 2025 and moving to the private sector, is said to have had a blood alcohol level of 2.48. In a statement he emphasized that he was sorry.
