Marcel Forgáč refuses to remain silent, he heard his family: I’m not afraid to say it!

The popular presenter Marcel Forgáč (54) is not afraid to comment on topics that often stir passions in Slovak society. Recently, he was a guest in the new columnist Michal Havran, where he said that he never had a problem speaking out about things that, according to him, are not correct and he was already active during November 89′.

“Maybe there really is a special place in hell for those who are quiet when things are really bad. But that also pertains to more serious topics than just the political situation in Slovakia. It concerns war, anti-Semitism… There are several such topics where I think that the one who somehow manages to reach a larger group of people should probably name what he considers correct,” explained Forgáč and continued.

“I do not say that I am the owner of the truth, but I try to follow very trivial and given values, I am not afraid to say that maybe even Christian ones. When you look at the base from the ten, if you go through this filter, you still cannot approve of any untruth, violence, threats, war, harm, murder, rape. Or expressing that it’s cool or that silence is golden,” said the presenter, who admitted that he had already heard from those around him more than once whether it was worth it. “I also have one in my family – please, cough up what it brings you?” he added.

The native of eastern Slovakia further admitted that he did not have riotous times for a long time and did not intensively speak out against something on the networks until the situation became serious. According to Forgáč, in his own words, he has no idea where it comes from, because at home “there wasn’t this move on the goal”, but during the Gentle Revolution he knew that it was supposed to be this way and as a student he was involved in various activities.
