The minister of the General Secretariat of the Presidency, Guilherme Boulos, said this Tuesday, 30th, to the program Good morning, Ministerthat the president of the Senate, Davi Alcolumbre (União Brasil-AP), “is making mistakes and making a big mistake” by not moving forward with the proposed amendment to the Constitution (PEC) to end the 6×1 work schedule.
Boulos made a football analogy, taking advantage of the World Cup atmosphere. He stated that “there is a lot of catimba” and that Alcolumbre “needs to remember that there is a counterattack”.
“There is no justification for an agenda that interests the Brazilian people to be stuck in a drawer for a month due to lesser interests. The president of the Senate is making mistakes and making big mistakes. And I think he is playing with fire. When he leaves this agenda idle without any justification, because there is no justification on merit, politics or any other order”, he declared.

Asked what this “counterattack” would be, Boulos said that “society is the one who will say what it will be.” “To think that it will paralyze an agenda with social outcry and that society will watch this passively, seems to me to be a very reckless and mistaken conception”, he added.
The Minister of the General Secretariat of the Presidency did not effectively say what the federal government should do in this regard to guarantee the approval of the PEC at the end of the 6×1. He stated that the main response will come from public pressure.
Boulos also criticized the PEC presented by the opposition in the Senate as an alternative to the end of the 6×1 scale. The minister said that the so-called PEC for hours worked represents “the end of labor rights, salary reduction and workers having to do odd jobs”. He called the proposal a “shame” and a “farce”, as well as “a slap in the face of the people”.
“A report from Folha de S.Paulo showed that senator Flávio Bolsonaro, who supports the PEC on hours worked, was absent from 43% of the Senate’s deliberative sessions. Imagine if the PEC for the hour worked was valid for him. He wouldn’t be able to pay for his purchases at the end of the month”, he declared.
Boulos also criticized the business sector’s actions against the end of the 6×1 scale. He said that this attempt is a “brazen way to attack” the proposal.
“The president of Fecomercio-SP went so far as to, in an interview, attack the end of the 6×1 scale, saying that it is complete nonsense, and suggesting that beneficiaries of social programs could not vote,” he declared.
