SHMÚ warns of fog: Watch out for ice in these regions!

On Monday morning you have to watch out for fog, the first level warning is in effect for the entire territory of Slovakia. In Bratislava, Trnava and parts of the Nitra region, the first-level frost warning is also valid until 9:00 a.m. The Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute (SHMÚ) informs about this on its website.

Fog with visibility of 50 to 200 meters may occasionally occur throughout Slovakia on Monday. The warning lasts until 12:00 p.m. Meteorologists warn of frost in the entire territory of the Bratislava and Trnava Regions and in most districts of the Nitra Region.

SHMÚ reminded on the social network that the strengthening inversion and slowly increasing humidity support persistence of low clouds for a longer part of the day. On Sunday, low cloud cover and fog persisted in Záhorí and in the south of the Danube and East Slovak Plains, where the temperature rose to one to five degrees Celsius, and mostly to six to 13 degrees Celsius elsewhere. During Monday, according to SHMÚ, the conditions for the persistence of low clouds will be more suitable, humidity will increase and the inversion will strengthen, especially in western Slovakia.
