The basic food baskets increased by 9.79% between December 2024 and March 2025, according to a survey by Fecomércio Acre. The main cause of discharge is the silver banana, with 52.58% increase in its value, followed by coffee powder, with 26.78%. The average cost of the basic basket in March is R $ 663.48, with the maximum registered amount reaching R $ 717.59.

The banana went from $ 34.92 to $ 53.28, meanwhile, the coffee went from $ 56.76 to $ 71.96. Beef also rose in the period, up 19.01%, costing an average of R $ 212.20 (5kg of soft cushion). The items that fell within the basic sixth were soybean oil (13.94%) and French bread (31.27%).
“The increase in the basic basket can directly affect the budget of low -income families, reducing their purchasing power and impacting other sectors of trade,” said Fecomércio Acre presidency advisor Egidio Garó.
“We constantly monitor these variations to understand how they affect not only consumers, but also traders, who need to adapt their stocks and sales strategies,” he added.
