Más Madrid this Monday dismissed Loreto Arenillas as spokesperson for the party in the women’s commission of the Assembly, and replaced her with Mariana Arce, according to documentation accessed by EL PAÍS. After more than fifteen days without the deputy consummating due to the scandal of the Iñigo Errejón case (the formation accuses her of “” one of the accusations of harassment against the founder of the party, which she denies), Manuela Bergerot, leader of the opposition in the Madrid Assembly, thus takes a measure of pressure. The consequence is twofold. First, Arenillas loses the salary supplement linked to the spokesperson, which amounted to 881.19 gross euros per month. And second, Errejón is once again under the spotlight after leaving politics, reported by an anonymous complaint for harassment posted on networks, which was later followed by another registered with the police by the actress and presenter.

For this reason, she has gone to the guarantee committee of Más Madrid, which sees how the days go by without Arenillas making official the resignation as a deputy that she herself announced on October 25, after learning that the party leadership was dismissing her from all her organic positions.
Since then, the party has been mired in a crisis that cannot be resolved. Thus, for example, Más Madrid had one less deputy in the last plenary session of the Assembly: Arenillas was absent, did not request a proxy vote, and kept the formation in suspense.
The reason? More Madrid and PSOE ended up tied at 27 deputies in the last regional elections. If Bergerot’s party holds the leadership of the opposition it is because it obtained a few thousand more votes. Now, if Arenillas decides to keep the record, Más Madrid will have to decide between several unattractive options: o Arenillas remains in the chamber as another party representative, which one source considers ruled out; or in the long run it remains in the Chamber as a non-attached representative, so Más Madrid would lose the leadership of the opposition in favor of the PSOE.
