PCC whistleblower case will have a twist, says lawyer

Corrupt police officers and negligent construction companies could become targets of investigations after the businessman’s death at Guarulhos International Airport

Since the 38-year-old businessman became the target of the investigation, lawyer Ivelson Salotto was the one who defended him against accusations of money laundering and the murder of Anselmo Santa Fausta, known as Cara Preta. The lawyer, who abandoned the case after the businessman accepted the “plea bargain”, said that the investigation into Gritzbach’s death will take a “turn”. In fact, he stated that he is preparing documents that will contribute to the investigations, in addition to proving the innocence of the businessman murdered at Guarulhos International Airport in terms of having ordered the death of Cara Preta, executed in December 2021.

Ivelson Salotto highlighted that the businessman, a real estate broker operating in the east zone of the capital of São Paulo, stopped running his father’s business because he was “seduced” by members of the . “He intermediated the sale of properties with values agreed between the parties to pay less taxes. For example, if a property was worth R$7 million, Vinicius would liaise with the construction company so that the sale could be finalized for R$2 million on paper (officially)”. The businessman’s former lawyer also emphasized that each transaction operated by him generated a profit of R$700,000 to R$1 million. The real estate agent started making money from fraudulent transactions. The lawyer also questioned why construction companies were not targets of the operation. “They also participated in money laundering.”

For Gaeco (Special Action Group to Combat Organized Crime), Vinícius Gritzbach promoted more than intermediations. According to investigations, the businessman was responsible for laundering the money of PCC leaders through cryptocurrency operations. In one of the actions, he allegedly embezzled around US$100 million from the gang, which may have led to a dispute between the whistleblower from the First Command of the Capital and the faction’s bosses. Column sources also claim that Vinícius had elements against corrupt police officers. Asked about this, the lawyer defending the businessman did not deny the statement. But he ruled out that Vinícius embezzled money from the PCC.

On the afternoon of this Monday (11), the São Paulo Public Security Secretariat will hold a press conference to detail the creation of a task force that will assist in investigations into the crime that took place outside Guarulhos International Airport. . The secretary in charge of the department, Guilherme Derrite, canceled a trip to New York precisely with the aim of creating a connection between everything that was investigated by the institutions investigating the case.
