Bahia gained an important reinforcement for the “decision” against Corinthians, this Tuesday (3), at 8 pm, at Neo Química Arena, for the 37th round of the Brasileirão. Recovered from injury, midfielder Rezende joined the group in São Paulo and is the Squadron’s big news for the clash. The Squadron will guarantee a place in the Libertadores if they win the duel.
This Monday (2), Bahia did the last training session before the match. At São Paulo’s CT, Rogério Ceni made the latest adjustments to the team. The coach promised to maintain the offensive posture in Itaquera, but did not reveal the lineup.
The tendency, however, is for Bahia to repeat the team from previous rounds. In the 2×1 victory over Cuiabá, the Squadron played with: Adriel, Gilberto, Gabriel Xavier, Kanu and Luciano Juba; Caio Alexandre, Jean Lucas, Everton Ribeiro and Cauly; Ademir and Lucho Rodríguez.
Injured, defender David Duarte and full-back Iago Borduchi remain out of action.
With 50 points, Bahia is 7th in the Brasileirão, within the classification zone for the Libertadores. Corinthians appears one position below, with the same 50 points, but with one less victory (14 to 13).
If they win the game away from home, the Bahian team will reach 53 points and 15 wins, guaranteeing at least 8th place, which is enough to secure a place in the next Libertadores.
