Amnesty International accuses Israel of genocide against Palestinians in Gaza

The report published this Thursday by Amnesty International accuses the Israeli government and the Hebrew army of committing acts that violate the Convention on the prohibition of Genocide. The organization says that Israel is responsible for forced displacements of civilians, for bombings that it defines as “relentless” and for preventing international humanitarian aid from reaching its destination. The Amnesty report also reports the deaths of more than 42,000 Palestinians, including more than 13,000 children, while the attacks have left, in more than a year of attacks, almost 100,000 injured. Amnesty also accuses Israel of having left 1.9 million Palestinians homeless, which corresponds to 90% of the population of the Gaza Strip. The report also speaks of the existence of sufficient evidence to say that Israel committed the actions “consciously and intentionally”, in an operation that occurred at a level and speed never seen in another 21st century conflict.
