The disappearance of a Cuban citizen, more than a year ago in a small Spanish village, is causing people to talk. Google Maps updated, for the first time in 15 years, and captured the key moment that could help solve the case.

In November last year, a Cuban citizen was reported missing in the quiet town from Tajueco, in the province of Soria, in Andalusia. The case reached the Spanish authorities and resulted in several operations to try to find the whereabouts of the 33-year-old man, but it is only now close to being solved… thanks to an image from Google Maps.

In addition to the various searches carried out at the suspects’ homes and vehiclesauthorities also analyzed some images available on Google Maps, the famous navigation platform digital mapping and navigation. For the first time in 15 years, the images referring to the streets of Tajueco were updated and, interestingly, they captured the precise moment in which One of the suspects is seen placing what appears to be a human body wrapped in a white sheet in the car’s bag.

At a press conference, one of those responsible for the investigation revealed that the image captured by Google Maps cameras dates back to the last October.

“No information, no matter how important it may seem, is neglected. But it was not the beginning, nor was it given a determining value in the investigation”, explained the Inspector Oscar García of Specialized Crime and Violence Unit.

The same images led authorities to make searches in a cemetery in the vicinity of the Spanish province of just 56 inhabitants. In this location, according to the information note from the National Police, they found remains that may belong to JLPO. These were transferred to the IInstitute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences of Soria.

The couple stayed in preventive detention after being presented to a judge.
