The government () sanctioned this Thursday (19) the creation of the “Government House in the State of Rio Grande do Sul”, a body to mediate and monitor reconstruction actions in Rio Grande do Sul after the floods.
The House will assume responsibilities of the Secretariat for Support for Reconstruction of Rio Grande do Sul, which will be officially abolished on Friday (20).
Created by Lula as a temporary ministry, the body was under the responsibility of the minister of Secom, during the months following the tragedies caused by the rains in the state.
In September, the body ceased to be a ministry and became a secretariat linked to the Civil House. Now, the new body must monitor the state’s restructuring actions, in addition to articulating communication between the municipal, state and federal spheres on the progress of the actions.
The activities of the Government House are scheduled to end on May 30, 2025.
In the decree, the president reassigns the commissioned positions linked to the Reconstruction Secretariat to the new instance. At the end of the established period, employees in commissioned positions relocated to the Government House will be returned to the Secretariat of Management and Innovation and their occupants will be automatically dismissed.
