The best shortcrust pastry without stains, from Sister Anastazja's recipe. Perfect for cheesecake and poppy seed cake

Sister Anastazja delights with wonderful recipes that have inspired many people to cook and bake for many years. This time she revealed the secret about shortcrust pastry. Cheesecakes and poppy seed cakes taste delicious with this base.

We use standard ingredients to make the shortcrust pastry recipe. The nun, however, does not knead it on the pastry board, but uses a flour mill, thanks to which it turns out perfect. At the same time, it saves a lot of time and work.

What ingredients do we need to make shortcrust pastry? Here is the list:

  • 100 g of butter;
  • 100 g of wheat flour;
  • 100 g of powdered sugar;
  • 4 yolks;
  • 5 g baking powder.

For starters Put butter into the flour and add powdered sugar. Mix these two ingredients until you obtain a uniform consistency, free of lumps.

In the next step, we gradually add the yolks. We continue kneading the dough – all ingredients must be well combined.

Then sift the wheat flour and baking powder into a separate bowl and we also add these two ingredients to the makutra in batches. We don’t stop grinding the mass – at the end it must be smooth and uniform.

Place the prepared shortcrust pastry onto the form. Prick them with a fork all over the surface to prevent air bubbles from forming. Place the dough in an oven preheated to 180 degrees Celsius. The baking will be ready after about 15 minutes – after this time it will become golden in color.

We can make more than just cheesecake and poppy seed cake with a shortcrust pastry base. It will also be useful for apple pie. It is also worth sprinkling these three cakes with grated crumble from such a shortcrust pastry. That’s not all…

This base will be perfect as a base for fruit tarts e.g. raspberry, blueberry, strawberry, creating the perfect combination of sweetness and crunchiness.

It can also be used to prepare mazurkawhich, decorated with chocolate icing and dried fruit, will become a delicious dessert for any occasion.

Perfect for cake with custard cream and fruit. What’s more, shortcrust pastry can be used in savory baked goods i.e. tarts with vegetables or cheese, which makes them a universal baking dish in the kitchen.
