According to authorities, the plane first hit the chimney of a building and then the first floor of a house, before crashing into a furniture store. Debris also hit a nearby hostel.

A plane crashed this Sunday in Gramado, in the Gaúcha mountains, in Brazil. Initial information states that the small aircraft crashed into stores and houses, killing nine of the ten crew members.

Information collected by CNN Brasil indicates that the weather in the city is bad, with rain and fog.

Governor Eduardo Leite has already reacted and is evaluating a possible trip to the city.

The aircraft would have left Gramado and was going to Jundiaí, in the interior of São Paulo.

According to the State Secretariat of Public Security of Rio Grande do Sul, at least 15 people were taken to the city’s hospital, most of them affected by smoke inhalation caused by the fire caused by the accident.
