“The Liberal Initiative is a party of sissies”, says André Ventura

André Ventura accused the Liberal Initiative (IL) of being a spoiled party – after deputy Carlos Guimarães Pinto said that, in a rule of law, we should not accept innocent people being detained by the police.

Last week, last week, it has been a source of success in the Portuguese political sphere. The left-wing parties were the first to condemn the pattern of the raid that pinned dozens of innocent people against the wall, on Rua do Benformoso. But, also on the right, the Liberal Initiative disapproved of police actionsin this operation.

Speaking to , this Thursday, the IL deputy Carlos Guimarães Pinto admitted to having “a problem of principle with rips where innocent people or about people where there is no suspicion be immobilized. And it is a principle that applies to this raid, as it applies to any other.”

“These raids in which people of whom there are no suspicions are immobilized happen with some frequency”, said the liberal, pointing out that these operations also took place in socialist governments. “Should we accept that in a rule of law this happens frequently?”

Reacting to the words of Carlos Guimarães Pinto, Andre Venturain a post on social media this Saturday, said that “IL is a party of faggots“.

“These liberals are always against the police, always against these wrinkles… do you know why? Why this is a completely spoiled party. He lives in Príncipe Real, around luxuries and wealth and They don’t understand what’s going on in the streetsbut people feel the robberies, the attacks…”, considered Ventura,

“So they make these sissy tweets, saying they have problems with this, because people have raids and are immobilized… listen: Liberal Initiative is the same as a sissy party, and the right has to know this and cannot forget, which is for Don’t give your vote to this sissy party”, highlighted the Chega leader.

“There are shootings with dead people outside shopping centers, drug trafficking in broad daylight, but the Liberal Initiative is very concerned about the excessive actions of the police!!! Little party of bullshit”, wrote André Ventura, in X, in reference to , at the end of the day this Friday.

Urgent security debate

Also this Saturday, the leader of Chega announced that the party will schedule a debate in parliament on security in Portugal.

In a press conference at Chega’s national headquarters in Lisbon, André Ventura specifically addressed this Friday’s shooting in a shopping center in Viseu – which left one dead and two slightly injured – to claim that the Portuguese people are living a “day-to-day life of violence”.

“We therefore decided to convene the Assembly of the Republic for an urgent debate on Tuesday, the 7th. [de janeiro]on the state of security in Portugal. After the events that occurred yesterday [sexta-feira]parliament has to make decisions about what it wants to do”, he said.

Ventura stated that the objective of the debate is to seek to reach consensus to create a “package against insecurity, approved in parliament and in force throughout the national territory” that aims to “combat illegal weaponsincrease penalties for crimes related to organized crime, drug trafficking, human trafficking and the creation of prostitution networks”.

In addition to this potential schedule, André Ventura also stated that he wrote to the President of the Republic Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa to ask him to convene a meeting of the State Council on the same topic.

The leader of Chega acknowledged that, according to the law, only the President of the Republic can call meetings of the Council of State, but stated that he took the initiative to write to him because he considered that Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa needs to “have a say on the state of insecurity in Portugal”.

“It is time for the nation’s highest magistrate, who at other times spoke about everything and anything, to have the courage, even if it is not politically correct, to tell the Portuguese that we live in times of insecurity and that he will do everything to combat this insecurity. ”, he stated.
