A colonel uncovers Putin's change of board against NATO

Russia has found a way to neutralize NATO’s most advanced weapons in Ukraine, according to a senior European military expert. This advance in electronic warfare is just one sign of Moscow’s broader military transformation, he told the outlet. .

Colonel Markus Reisner, an Austrian General Staff officer with extensive experience in special operations, revealed how Russia has expanded its forces to 640,000 soldiers while systematically dismantling Western technological advantages. With North Korea supplying three million artillery shells and Russian forces firing 90,000 shells a day compared to Ukraine’s 20,000, a stark resource disparity is emerging, he said.

Reisner thus argued that the war is entering its most critical phase. According to the expert, five key factors loom over the year 2025: Western political unity after the US elections, Russian internal stability, emerging military technologies, the sustainability of forces and global economic conditions.

While the Russian military has considerable problems and issues, the expert noted that it should not be underestimated as it has demonstrated the ability to adapt to changing battlefield conditions and dynamics.

“The Russians have demonstrated a remarkable ability to adapt their tactics and equipment,” Reisner said. “They have modified their vehicles with additional protection against drones, saturated the electromagnetic spectrum to counter Ukrainian systems and have effectively deployed new capabilities, such as gliding bombs,” he explained.

An example of this is the Russian ground forces’ tactical approach to battlefield reconnaissance. They have even implemented, according to Reiner, the use of motorcycle reconnaissance units to probe Ukrainian defenses, a technique that may seem primitive but has proven to be effective.

In addition, the Russian military has also demonstrated an evolution in its electronic warfare capabilities. This advancement has had a drastic effect on precision weapons supplied by the West, with some systems having their effectiveness reduced to a fraction of their expected performance.
