According to firefighters, the victim suffered head trauma and was taken to the Workers’ Hospital. “He was working at height, an approximate drop of about 10 meters. The injuries were serious, mainly to the skull, and the risk is present”, said Sergeant Cunha, from the Fire Department, to the Banda B portal.

However, due to the severity of the injuries, the man, identified as Leonardo Cavanhi, died shortly after being admitted. The accident occurred around 9:40 am, before the mall opened. Activated by a witness to the fall, the rescue teams provided first assistance at the scene, before removing the victim to the hospital.

In a statement, Shopping Estação informed that the worker who provided services at the mall is part of the staff of an outsourced company. According to the note, he was promptly attended to by the mall’s team of firefighters, who quickly called Siate.

“The mall deeply regrets what happened and continues to monitor the service, in contact with the outsourced company”, states part of the note.
