Thássilo Soares acquires 53.5% of the SAF of the Minas Gerais club; Financial operation is almost completed
Thássilo Soares, agent of striker Vini Jr., is in the process of acquiring most actions of the SAF (Anonymous Society of Football) that manages Athletic, a club that prepares for its debut in Serie B of the Brazilian Championship in 2025, as released by Monday (03.FEV.2025). The transaction still depends on bureaucratic formalities to be completed.
The F&P Sport Management, which until then controlled Athletic’s SAF, agreed to sell a significant portion of its actions to Thássil, which will deter 53.5% of the total, becoming the main shareholder. The financial operation is almost completed, awaiting only the completion of documentary issues.
An AGE (Extraordinary General Assembly) is scheduled for 6.FEV.2025, when the transaction should be communicated to minority shareholders.
Athletic faces criticism from minority shareholders, such as Tiberis Holding, for alleged lack of economic and accounting transparency by F&P sports management. In addition, the club has dealt with financial issues, including a transfer ban applied by FIFA due to debts with other clubs.
Athletic has shown a good performance in the Mineiro Championship, leading the competition with 12 points and approaching the semifinals. The team has high expectations for their first participation in Serie B in 2025.
