In a partnership between the CCDR Algarve, the University of Algarve (Ualg-Se & Cinturs) and the Algarve Tourism Region (RTA), will take place the session “Cocriativeness of an accessible route of the Mediterranean diet”, this Tuesday, On February 11, at 2 pm, at CCDR Algarve – Room G, with entrance by Pinheiro Chagas Street. The free admission event requires prior email registration ().
The program begins at 2 pm with the reception of the participants, followed by the opening session, which will feature interventions by José Apolinário, president of CCDR Algarve, Ana de Freitas, vice-dean of the University of Algarve, Fatima Catarina, vice- President of RTA, and Manuela Guerreiro, coordinator of the Center for Research in Tourism, Sustainability and Welfare (CINTURS).
The first panel, moderated by Lurdes Serpa Carvalho, from CCDR Algarve, begins at 3 pm with the presentation of the Sustainability Plan for the Sustainability of the Mediterranean Diet 2023-2027 (), by Catarina Cruz, Head of Division of External Cooperation and CCDR Algarve Transfronation. It follows, at 3:15 pm, the session “An Integrated Vision of Accessible Tourism: From Physical to Digital Dimension”, presented by Manuela Rosa, coordinating professor at the Ualg Higher Engineering Institute, and Caterina Orlando, Erasmus+ Scholarship of the University of Florence.
After a Coffee Break at 3:45 pm, the second panel starts at 4 pm, with moderation from Joana Afonso, a rehabilitation technique at the ATI Algarve delegation. The first theme, “Accessibility in Culture. The case of the José Formosinho Museum in Lagos ”will be approached by Elena Morán, head of museum division and cultural goods of the Lagos City Council. It follows, at 4:15 pm, the presentation of Anabela Santos, coordinator of the Algarviana Project, of the Almargem Association, on the theme “Via Algarviana: In the Steps of Accessibility”.
At 4:30 pm, Henrique Freire, director of the Algarve postcard, will address “accessibility in social communication”, followed by an open debate at 4:45 pm. The session ends at 17h00 with the intervention of Paulo Santos, director of the Ualg Higher Institute of Engineering.
The event aims to promote the inclusion and accessibility in Algarve tourism, aligning with the principles of the Mediterranean diet and sustainable tourism, and reinforcing the importance of accessibility in culture, communication and the natural environment of the region.
