Emergency landing
Boeing 737-800 came from to in Texas. However, during the flight, the crew detected engine abnormalities and chose to divert to Denver.
The landing was held at 5:15 pm local time (8:15 pm in Brasilia) and, while the plane was taxed to the gate, an engine fire forced the passengers to leave the aircraft through the emergency slides.
FAA said it has already started an investigation to determine the causes of the fire. There is still no information on what may have caused the flames. American Airlines did not disclose an official position until the publication of this report.
