The Ukraine Air Force stated that Russia launched a series of air attacks against various regions of the country, including the capital, Kiev, days after an audacious Ukrainian operation that, with hundreds of drones, destroyed aircraft on Russian bases, some thousands of kilometers from the border. It is not clear, however, if the bombings would be a direct retaliation of Moscow to the incident, or if it would be one of the applicants offensive against the city.
“Cruzeiro missiles are entering the Chernihiv region towards Kyiv!” The Ukrainian Air Force announced in his Telegram account, reinforcing that the entire territory of the country is on alert.

According to the Kyiv Independent newspaper, drone attacks were recorded in various Kiev districts. At least three residential buildings were hit, plus a school. There are no reports about victims, but the energy was cut into some neighborhoods, said Tymur Tkachenko, head of the Kiev Military Administration. The mayor of the Ukrainian capital, Vitali Klitschko, asked residents to stay in shelters.

In recent weeks, amid the intensification of Russian attacks against Ukraine, Kiev has been a preferred target of missiles and drones, causing dozens of victims and damage in military and civil areas. However, after the great Ukrainian offensive of the weekend, when drones reached at least five bases within Russian territory, from Arctic to Siberia, destroying at least one dozen combat aircraft, the country lives the expectation and fear of a large Russian retaliation.

The day before, Russian President Vladimir Putin said in a telephone conversation with American homologist Donald Trump, who would “have to answer” to Ukraine’s attack, but Kremlin declined to reveal what this retaliation could be. Russian commentators and pro-war elements argue that Moscow use their nuclear arsenal, a threat since the beginning of the war three years ago, but there is no signs that this could happen.
