Brazilian industry revenues grow 6.5% in the 1st semester

CNI data indicate that the sector revenue was discharged from the same period last year; In the monthly comparison, result fell 1.9%

The revenue of Brazilian industry in the 1st semester of 2025 grew 6.5% over the same period last year, according to those released by (National Confederation of Industry) this Friday (8.ago.2025).

Despite the good performance in the annual comparison, the industry revenue has signs of slowdown. From May to June, industrial revenues in the country fell 1.9%. From 1st to 2nd quarter, the retreat was 2.6%.

Hours worked fall

According to CNI industrial indicators, the fall in the total number of hours worked in the sector shows that the pace of Brazilian industry has decreased in recent months.

The indicator rose 2.7% in the 1st semester compared to the same period of 2024, but fell 0.7% in June. In the accumulated, it registered a 1% drop in the 2nd quarter.

Labor market cools

In April, the number of jobs in the industry sector fell for the first time in 18 months, but remained stable in the next 2 months. With this, industrial employment ended the 2nd quarter with slight drop of 0.1%.

In the semiannual accumulated, however, the trend is high. The number of vacancies in the sector was up 2.4% in the first 6 months of 2025 compared to the same period last year.

Industry wages

The industrial sector wage mass grew 1.3% in June. Ended the 2nd quarter with a high of 1.2%. This indicator measures the sum of the income of all industrial workers in the country.

Already the average monthly income, which measures the average salary of the sector adjusted by inflation, rose 1.2% in June. In the 2nd quarter, it was up 1.7%.

Occupation of the Industrial Park

From May to June, the UCI (use of installed capacity) of the Brazilian industry rose 0.1 pp (percentage point) and reached 78.8%. The index shows the percentage of the industrial park that is in operation.

From the 1st to the 2nd quarter, the Brazilian industry UCI also fell 0.1 pp, and in the semiannual analysis, retreated 0.8 pp compared to the same period of 2024.
