A 34-year-old businessman was kidnapped and shot dead on the afternoon of Tuesday (2), on the banks of BR-020, in the Potira neighborhood of Caucaia, Fortaleza Metropolitan Region. The victim was identified as José Maria Evangelista da Silva (featured photo), owner of a upholstery cleaning company in the municipality.
According to witnesses, José Maria was surrendered by criminals at the Porto dinas, in Aquiraz, about 34 kilometers from the capital of Ceará. From there, the suspects took him to the highway in Caucaia, where the entrepreneur was forcibly removed from the vehicle and executed with several shots in the back. He died at the scene before the arrival of help.

The victim, who had no criminal record, was recognized in the region for working in the cleaning sector. He had recently received a prominent prize in the area.
The Ceará Civil Police reported that the case is under the responsibility of the 1st Caucaia Police Station, which investigates the motivation and those involved in the crime. So far, no suspects have been arrested.
