Acre will gain two new coffee processing industries, a milestone that promises to transform the reality of hundreds of families linked to family farming. During the National Meeting of Coopera Mais Brasil, in Brasilia, there was a meeting promoted by the president of Apexbrasil, Jorge Viana, with the Minister of Agrarian Development and Family Farming, Paulo Teixeira, the National Secretary of Popular and Solidarity Economy of the Ministry of Labor and Employment, Gilberto Carvalho, and the leader of Cooperacre, Manoel Monteiro.

The joint effort has a clear objective: to accelerate the implementation of units in two cooperative cooperatives linked to Cooperacre, Cooper-Liber, in Senador Guiomard, and Cooperxapuri in Xapuri. For Viana, the decision already points to a promising future:

“I am very happy with this ad, because I know we will strengthen family farming and improve the lives of many Acre families.” He said.

According to Manoel Monteiro, the direct impact will reach more than 500 families. “There will be about 200 families benefiting in Senador Guiomard and 300 in Xapuri. It is a project that makes all the difference to cooperativism, families and the economy of Acre,” he said.Jorge Viana strengthens cooperation for the implementation of coffee industries in Senador Guiomard and Xapuri

The cooperation, created during the period in which Jorge Viana was governor, consolidated as a national reference in cooperative management. Today, it operates in production chains of chestnut, rubber, fruit and coffee pulp, with presence in national and international markets. President Lula also expressed support for the initiative during a recent visit to Acre, where he announced investments, including the two coffee industries in Acre and one in Rondônia.

The meeting took place within the scope of Coopera Mais Brasil, a program launched in 2024 by the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Family Farming (MDA), in partnership with the Ministry of Labor and Employment. Apexbrasil Agribusiness Manager Laudemir Muller stressed that cooperatives will have priority in the agency’s actions. “By the guidance of our President Jorge Viana, we will ensure that these cooperatives have not only export support, but priority in all food and beverage initiatives, especially those led by women,” he said.

More than an institutional agenda, the meeting in Brasilia symbolizes a decisive movement to transform coffee production into Acre into a concrete opportunity for income, development and future.
