The authorities of closed the Warsaw International Airport and called their own aircraft and countries of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), the measure occurred after Moscow launched a wave of air attacks against Ukrainian West cities at dawn on Tuesday (9/10)-Wednesday in Poland.
In a statement, Poland’s Armed Forces Operational Command stated that terrestrial air defense and radar recognition systems were elevated to the highest alert level.
“Polish and allies fighters are operating in our airspace,” said the note.
The Federal Aviation Administration of the United States (FAA) also published a warning to aircraft informing that Chopin airport in Warsaw was unavailable due to “unlawful military activities related to state safety”.
According to the international media earlier, the Ukraine Air Force had declared, in posting on Telegram, then deleted, that Russian drones had entered the Polish airspace and threatened the city of Zamosc.
The Ukrainian press reported that at least one drone was heading for the Rzeszow region, but there was no official confirmation.
Polish mobilization occurs amid the climb of Russian bombings against Ukrainian cities and can raise the tensions between Moscow and NATO.
