Second place in the 2024 Golden Ball award, Brazilian striker Vinicius Junior, Real Madrid, was 16th in this year’s election.
Considered the favorite to get the prize in the last edition, the Brazilian player was frustrated when he was surpassed at the time for a close advantage of votes by Spanish midfielder Rodrigo, Manchester City.
Responsible for the awards, France Football magazine recently released the players who were between the 16th and 30th positions in the best in the world election in the 2024/25 season.
Vinicius Junior was immediately ahead of Barcelona Polish Robert Lewandowski.
The winner must be announced around 4 pm GMT, with PSG’s French Dembélé and Spaniard Lamine Yamal of Barcelona as favorites.
