Bocalom only gives up on government candidacy if only one person asks

The weekend was marked by the public break between Deputy Governor Mailza Assis and the mayor of Rio Branco, Tião Bocalom-both listed to run for the government in 2026.

In the middle of cross fire, Governor Gladson Cameli, the main articulator of his own succession, tried to minimize the crisis. He denied that the political relationship between Mailza and Bocalom came to an end and classified the episode as a “natural disagreement” in a group that lives with internal disputes through the Rio Branco Palace.

Gladson also said that there was a “wrong interpretation” by the deputy and revealed that he personally talked with nozzle during the 121 -year party of Cruzeiro do Sul, on Sunday (28).

“The whole group will be on the table sitting so we can go out in the 2026 elections. There is a lot of water under the bridge,” he said.

Only one can convince him

While Mailza has already hit the hammer – he will be a candidate with or without the mayor in the match – everyone knows that Bocalom only retreats if he hears a specific request: that of Senator Márcio Bittar.

Bittar and Bocalom are political allies and will be on the same stage in 2026/Reproduction

It was like this in 2024, in municipal elections, when the senator acted as a political firefighter. Bittar is not only ally, but also close friend and nozzle counselor. The mayor acknowledges that his government candidacy may disrupt the senator’s reelection plans, who dreams of competing side by side with Gladson the two senate chairs in 2026.

In addition to a faithful squire, Bittar gives the cards in PL in Acre and will have the power to define the direction of the party. If you understand that the nozzle candidacy threatens the right unit, you can end up imposing a change of route.

Anticipated campaign

The mayor’s movements reinforce that the government’s dispute is, in fact, in its radar. In recent weeks, Bocalom has been running the interior with an intense agenda: he went through Seine Madureira, Feijó and, more recently, by Cruzeiro do Sul, Acre’s second largest city.

But winning mayors will not be a simple task. Mailza has in his favor the PP, which runs 14 municipalities in the state – and most of them is directly linked to its political articulation.

Vice, Nicholas or nothing?

To end the impasse, government interlocutors have already suggested that Bocalom agrees to be a candidate for deputy governor on the Mailza plate-a way out of the group.

If the proposal does not prosper, there is a plan B kept at Rio Branco Palace: the president of the Legislative Assembly, Deputy Nicolau Júnior.

This Monday (29), Gladson did not hide sympathy by the name of the ally:

“He is a strong name, which is being appreciated. This is not the first time I say this. Which politician does not dream of being a governor of Acre? We have to think of new leaders,” said the governor.
