You don’t always have the time and strength to roll out the dough, cool shortcrust bases or delicately arrange a lattice of dough, like when grating. Sometimes you just feel like eating something sweet that can be made quickly, without much effort and with what you have in the kitchen. Then he comes to the rescue the simplest apple cakewhich always works.
Instead of time-consuming apple pie, just prepare a flowing cake with the addition of apples cut into pieces. There is a crumble on top, thanks to which the whole thing becomes pleasantly crispy after baking. This cake tastes especially good in the fall, at home. They are made for real quickly and easily. It is worth serving your favorite tea or coffee with a piece of dessert to improve your mood on a cold and dark evening.
Ingredients:
Cake:
- 4 apples,
- 150 ml of milk,
- 60 g of wheat flour,
- 100 g of powdered sugar,
- 3 eggs,
- 3 tablespoons of butter,
- a teaspoon of vanilla extract,
- a teaspoon of baking powder,
- 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon,
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt.
Crumble:
- 100 g of wheat flour,
- 100 g of butter,
- 50 g of powdered sugar.
How to do it:
Prepare the dough. In a large bowl, quickly whisk together the eggs, milk, butter and vanilla. Then add flour, powdered sugar, cinnamon, baking powder and salt. Mix until smooth – the dough should be quite thin.
Peel, core and cut the apples into thin pieces. Place them in the bowl with the dough and mix until the fruit is completely covered with the dough.
Place the apples into a 23×13 cm diameter baking tin lined with silicone paper, gently flattening any protruding pieces. Pour the remaining dough evenly on top.
Prepare the crumble. Pour flour and powdered sugar into a bowl. Add finely chopped butter and rub with your fingers until you get a thick and wet crumble. Sprinkle the crumble on top of the cake.
The simplest apple cake put in the oven preheated to 175 degrees Celsius and bake for 50-60 minutes, until nicely browned.
Remove the cake from the oven and set aside for 10 minutes to cool slightly. Transfer the baked goods to a rack for another 15 minutes. Serve after cooling, alone or sprinkled with powdered sugar.
