The Federal Court ordered the (National Electric Energy Agency) to suspend the process of early extension of the concession with in , in a decision published this Thursday (9).

In his decision, judge Maurilio Freitas Maia de Queiroz accepted the request made by the mayor’s management (), on a preliminary basis, and ordered the administrative process of early extension of the contract with Enel in the metropolitan region of São Paulo to be suspended immediately.
“Until a final decision is made in the process that may result in the expiration of the current contract, as well as the assessment of satisfactory compliance with the supervisory and sanctioning measures imposed”, wrote Queiroz.

In the action, the Nunes management lists historical failures in the energy supply, with blackouts especially during periods of rain and windstorms.
To the Panel, Enel says that it has made investments in technology, renewing networks and hiring and training staff.
“The Company expresses its confidence in the renewal rites established by regulatory agents, which provide security for the company’s present and future investments and reinforces that it strictly complies with all the clauses established in its concession contract”, states the concessionaire, in a note.
