The heavy rain hitting the city of São Paulo triggered the Civil Defense alert. The CGE (Emergency Management Center) placed the entire city on alert for flooding.
According to Civil Defense, the rains are associated with strong winds and the likelihood of lightning strikes. There is a forecast of lightning, wind and hail this Friday (10).
The rain moves inland, and is formed by an area of low pressure. The intensity varies between moderate and strong and should spread throughout the city.

Civil Defense also warns of the potential for flooding and overflows. Rain is expected to continue until early evening, with periods of improvement.
According to the CGE, the rains in the east zone mainly affect the sub-prefectures of Mooca, Penha, Aricanduva Formosa and Vila Prudente. In the north, the Jaçanã-Tremembé sub-prefecture faces the storm.
