The leader of the PL in the Chamber, deputy Sóstenes Cavalcante (RJ), stated this Thursday (9) that the bench will present a “highlight of preference” to rescue the original 2023 text, maintaining the “broad, general and unrestricted” version of the Amnesty PL — despite the rapporteur, Paulinho da Força (Solidariedade-SP), defending a more restricted proposal.

The rapporteur’s opinion has not yet been released. However, the PL leader said that, if the final report only deals with the dosimetry of penalties for crimes against democracy — without including former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) —, the opposition will act to change the text in plenary.
Paulinho da Força seeks to maintain a moderate proposal and negotiates the inclusion of the project on the agenda for next Tuesday (14).
The deputy has been talking to benches and articulating a basis that guarantees a majority in the House. The definition of the agenda is up to the president of the Chamber, Hugo Motta (Republicanos-PB).
