Santos: Robinho Jr. could face Corinthians after provocation

Young Robinho Jr., 17 years old, is looking forward to facing Corinthians this Wednesday (15), at Vila Belmiro, in the 28th round of Series A of the Brazilian Championship. In mid-July, the Santos striker went viral on social media when he provoked Timão, recalling the history of his father, Robinho, in clashes against the black and white team from the capital.

Robinho, as his son recalled, was marked by good performances against Corinthians. In 12 games against Timão, the former striker won nine times, including the historic final of the 2002 Brazilian Championship, when he applied the famous pedal strokes on full-back Rogério. On that occasion, Santos won 3-2 and took the title.

Robinho Jr., who is taking his first steps in football, has accumulated five professional games, all coming off the bench. The Fish treats the boy with caution so as not to skip steps in his training process.

For the black and white classic, Santos arrives under pressure after the 3-0 defeat to Ceará, in Fortaleza. Peixe occupies 16th place, with 28 points, three more than Vitória, the first team within the relegation zone.

Corinthians, in turn, gained momentum by beating Mirassol 3-0, at the Neo Química Arena. With the result, Timão rose to 12th place, with 33 points.
