The headliner 30th year of the Pohoda festival will be the band Gorillaz. It will perform in Slovakia for the first time. Fans can look forward to a combination of hits such as Clint Eastwood, Feel Good Inc. Whether Dare and the new album, which will be released in the spring of 2026. TASR informed PR manager of the festival Lukáš Grešš. Pohoda will take place on 9th – 11th July 2026 at Trenčín Airport. Gorillaz are the first announced artist of the festival.
“We start celebrating the 30th year of Pohoda now, in the best possible way. We have dreamed of Gorillaz since the release of their first album, we have addressed them since we invite the well -being of international stars. Gorillaz is the strongest group in Pohoda’s history and we are proud that they are the first confirmed name of 2026. The arguing itself lasted nearly two years, ” said the festival director Michal Kaščák.
Behind the virtual project Gorillaz is the leader of the British band Blur Damon Albarn and the artist and author of the comic book Tank Girl Jamie Hewlett. Together they created a unique world of animated characters – singer 2D, bass player Murdoc Niccals, drummer Russel Hobbs and Japanese guitar virtuoso Noodle. “Thanks to this original concept, a constant musical experiment and impressive visual aesthetics, Gorillaz have become a global phenomenon that fundamentally influenced the direction of modern music,” Grešš noted.
According to him, their work combines various genres, from alternative rock to hip-hop, electronics to world music. Gorillaz is known for their collaborations, stars such as Elton John, Bad Bunny, Snoop Dog and Beck are on their albums. Gorillaz has eight studio albums. During this autumn, the band has played a series of selected concerts in Europe and is currently finishing work on the new album The Mountain, which will be released next year. Gorillaz has won a number of prestigious awards, including the Grammy Award and the Brit Award, during their career.
