On September 11th there was an unusual visit to Vienna. Representatives of the radical Islamist Taliban met Austrian officials for the first time. Politicians reiterated that these were discussions at a “technical level”. The Foreign Ministry has now also confirmed: Not only members of the Interior Ministry, but also representatives of the Foreign Ministry met with the Taliban in Vienna.
