The governor of São Paulo, used his social networks this Thursday (16) to criticize the management of the at the head of state-owned companies and defend the privatization policy in his state. This is the second direct criticism of the PT and the federal government in two weeks. In his publication, Tarcísio shared a graph about the losses of federal state-owned companies and stated that the party demonstrates a “detailed lack of knowledge of the subject with regard to public management”. According to the governor, “state-owned companies always make losses under PT governments”.

He also questioned who bears the costs of these deficits: “And do you know who pays the bill? You, me and all Brazilians.” In the post, Tarcísio contrasted the national scenario with the São Paulo administration, praising the privatizations carried out in São Paulo. “Here in São Paulo we privatized state-owned companies, adjusted our accounts and are responsible for the money of São Paulo residents. São Paulo is in the right direction!”, he concluded.

The demonstration marks a new episode in the growing tension between the governor of São Paulo and the federal government, intensifying the debate about the efficiency of public management and the role of state-owned companies in the country.
