Hamas denounces that ceasefire violations by Israel killed 38 people

Practically every day, Israeli forces opened fire on Palestinians who crossed the ‘yellow line’, the imaginary demarcation to which troops had to retreat at the start of the truce.

The NA government denounced this Saturday that it violated the ceasefire agreement on 47 occasions, in force since the 10th, with attacks against the population that killed 38 people. “The Israeli occupation has committed a series of serious and repeated violations since the announcement of the end of the war in the Gaza Strip, reaching 47 documented violations to date, in flagrant and clear violation of the ceasefire decision and the norms of international humanitarian law”, states the statement. Among the violations, the Gaza government includes “crimes of direct fire against civilians, deliberate bombings and attacks against civilians, and even the detention of several civilians.”

It claims that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) use for this purpose tanks that it maintains positioned in residential neighborhoods still under its control (just over 50% of Gaza remains militarized zones), remote attack devices or quadcopter drones that still fly over some areas of the enclave. “These violations were recorded in all provinces of the Gaza Strip without exception, confirming that the occupation forces have not ceased their aggression and maintain their policy of murdering and terrorizing the Palestinian people,” the statement said.

Practically every day, Israeli forces opened fire on Palestinians who crossed the “yellow line”, the imaginary demarcation to which troops had to retreat at the beginning of the truce. Consulted by EFE Agency, health authorities in Gaza assure that, in most cases, the dead were people trying to reach their homes, which they had to abandon during the offensive, thanks to the truce.

The agreement signed by Hamas and Israel establishes that the truce covers the entire Gaza Strip and that the IDF must withdraw to the “yellow line”, but this does not imply that the ceasefire does not apply beyond it, although Israel has invoked self-defense and threats to its troops to fire on Palestinians in that area.
