There are two personnel decisions to be made at the Salzburg Festival in the first half of 2026. President Kristina Hammer’s contract expires at the end of 2026, and the advertisement for the office is expected to take place in February, said Theresia Niedermüller, currently chairwoman of the festival board of trustees, after the committee’s meeting on Tuesday afternoon. The acting direction is also being advertised, and who will take on this role should be decided by next February.
